The IBEW and Electrical Workers Without Borders--North America partner with the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority for Light Up Navajo.
IBEW Local 611, along with Local 3 of New York, sent volunteer journeymen wiremen and linemen to provide crucial expert hands and knowledge to members of the Navajo Nation. The tribal members who benefit from this program, especially in rural areas, will now have access to essential utilities. In all cases, without these services, the tribal members would be without access to essential needs in their homes, like basic lighting, running water, and heating in the winter.
If you, or other 611 members, are interested in volunteering for future trips to help the Navajo Nation contact the hall to sign up for Light Up Navajo.
